Thank you for visiting my fundraising page!
Camp Kudzu has been a second home for me going on 18 years now. I began attending camp when I was 8 years old per the recommendation of my endocrinologist. Camp Kudzu would be a place that I could meet other children living with Type 1 Diabetes. Here I would learn how to better manage my diabetes on my own, and create countless relationships that would help me thrive with this disease. From a camper I transistioned into a counselor-in-training with the hopes of becoming a counselor who could have the impact on new campers that I received for so many years.
I have now served as a counselor, head staff, and am lucky enough to currently work as year-round staff in the office. It is hard for me to put into words all of the things Camp Kudzu has enabled me to do and to become. Camp Kudzu is a place where we feel normal, where our best friends are, and where we remember that we are not held back by Type 1 Diabetes.
This year I would like to help send more children to Camp Kudzu by raising $2,000 to help cover the cost to attend. Please help me give this incredible opportunity to more children living with T1D!
Until there's a cure, (Thank Goodness) There's camp!!
